Marguerite "Peg" A. Canada of Hermitage; formerly of 5th
Ave., Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Medical Center, with her family at her side. She was 92.
Mrs. Canada was born October 4, 1925, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Edward and Marguerite (McCarthy) Rosenberger. She was a graduate of the former Peabody High School in Pittsburgh and attended the University of Pittsburgh where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She later attended Youngstown State University.
A homemaker, Peg was a longtime active member of St. Edward's Church, Youngstown, where she was a church organist, a member of the garden club and a CCD instructor. She was currently a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in West Middlesex. Her Catholic faith was at the center of her life. Peg was a volunteer and officer for the North Side Hospital Auxiliary in Youngstown. She enjoyed playing golf, gardening and cooking. She loved watching all sports on television, especially golf when her family spent Sundays watching tournaments together.
Her husband, Louis Richard "Dick" Canada, whom she married November 2, 1946, passed away Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002.
Surviving is a daughter, Meg Grober and her husband Edward, Hermitage; five sons, Arthur Canada, Naples, FL; Richard "Rick" Canada and his wife Toni, Chicago, IL; Garrett Canada, Naples, FL; Timothy Canada, Youngstown; and Jeffrey Canada and his wife Brenda, also Naples, FL; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom she loved unconditionally.
Besides her husband, Peg was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; a sister, Alice Jane Starz; and three brothers, Edward Weaver and Forrest and Richard Rosenberger.
Peg had a heart that found the best in everyone and will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Church of the Good Shepherd,
