Margaret E. 'Peg' Wilkinson of 3410 W. Pittsburgh Rd. New Castle, formerly of Mahoningtown, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 12:25 p.m. in Avalon Nursing Center. She was 85.

Mrs. Wilkinson was born in New Castle, PA on December 17, 1925, a daughter of Theodore and Vera Fye Kennedy.

She was a 1944 graduate of New Castle High School.

Peg retired from People's Bank after 17 years as a teller in the Town Mall Office.

Mrs. Wilkinson was of the Protestant faith. She was a former member of Wimodausis. Peg enjoyed gardening and doing crafts. She had a love for traveling and enjoyed many trips with friends and family after retirement.

She is survived by, her husband Wesley L. 'Lee' Wilkinson, whom she married in 1949. They celebrated 62 years of marriage; 2 daughters, Janet and her husband Gary Altman of New Castle and Nancy and her husband Harold Rausch of Volant, PA; 2 special friends Harold and Lillian Mott.

Besides her parents, Peg was preceded in death by her twin sister, Betty Thompson; a brother Robert Kennedy.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 W. Falls St. New Castle, PA 16101.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. David J. Bell, pastor of First United Brethren Church.

Internment will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
