Margaret A. Welch

Margaret A. Welch, 97, of Sharpsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Ms. Welch was born on August 30, 1928, in Sharpsville, a daughter of the late Richard and Lillian (Wilson) Welch. A 1947 alumna of Sharpsville High School, she retired in November of 1983 after more than 37 years at Ohio Bell, Youngstown, OH, and 30 years concurrently at Bell of Pennsylvania, Sharon, PA.

Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew’s Church, Sharpsville.

She also belonged to the Telephone Pioneers and enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by three nephews, David Bresnahan (Lynne), of Transfer, Timothy Bresnahan, of Hermitage, and Richard Welch, of Tacoma, WA; three nieces, MaryAnn Caldwell, Crestview, FL, Paula Chotlas, of West Chester, NY, and Barbara Ann, of Tallmadge, OH; many great nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by two of her triplet sisters, Mary Ellen Welch and Marian E. Bresnahan; and two brothers, Edward and Thomas Welch.

Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m., in the chapel of St. Rose Cemetery, with Rev. John Miller, as celebrant.
