Service will be Friday for Margaret Jane Winkler Spondike Vargo, of Norris Street, Sharon. She passed away peacefully of natural causes at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 93. Margaret was born Oct. 29, 1921, in the Carnegie area of Pittsburgh, a daughter of Frank Edward and Suzanne Petrosky Winkler. Margaret retired as a meat packer from the former Golden Dawn Foods Inc., Sharon. She was a member of St. John's Orthodox Church, Hermitage. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George J. Spondike, and her second husband, Martin Vargo. She is survived by her son, Michael Spondike and his wife Sharon, Batesburg-Leesville S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Marie Spondike, Sharon; her grandchildren, Tara (Trip) Gleaton, Todd Spondike, Tim (Shanna) Spondike, Sarah Spondike and Paul Spondike; a great-granddaughter, Hailey Nicole Spondike; a great-grandson, Andrew Joshua Spondike; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Paul J. and Robert J. Spondike; 12 siblings; and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Spondike.
