Obituary

Margaret Mary Schott, of Todd Avenue, formerly of Spencer Road, both Hermitage, passed away of natural causes at 8:35 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 82. Mrs. Schott was born Sept. 7, 1932, in Sharon, a daughter of James and Margaret Wiesen Hanrahan. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and was a graduate of Sharon High School. A homemaker, early in her life she was a buyer for The Sharon Store in downtown Sharon. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, and in her younger years she sang with their choir. A tremendous homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidery, spending time with her family, and more recently taking part in the social activities at St. John XXIII Home. Her husband, William A. Schott, whom she married April 20, 1963, passed away Dec. 3, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Schott, with whom she made her home; two sons, William A. Schott and his wife Sharon, Kouts, Ind.; and Mark A. Schott and his wife Nancy, Garrettsville, Ohio; four grandchildren, William A. Schott III, Kelley R. Schott, Suzanne M. Randall and Brianna M. Schott; and nine great-grandchildren, Riley and Alyssa Randall; Evan and Liam Schott, Soren, Emorri, Levi, Easton and Elia Schott. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. James B. Hanrahan and Paul B. Hanrahan, and an infant grandson, Timmy. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to John the XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, 16148. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (5-12-15) in the J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday (5-13-15) in Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, co-celebrated by Msgr. Robert Malene, pastor, and Msgr. Salvatore P. Mitchell, retired pastor of the church. Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
