Obituary

Margaret May Miller, 1109 Bend Rd. (Lackawannock Twp.) Mercer, PA passed away at 6:45 a.m. Monday (11-30-09) at the home of her daughter in Nokomis, Florida. She was 93.

Mrs. Miller was born March 31, 1916 in New Castle, PA a daughter of the late John and Esther Houk Kennedy.

She was a 1936 graduate of Shenango High School (Lawrence County) and moved to the area following her marriage.

Marge was employed in custodial by the Hermitage School District for 18 years and retired in 1982.

She was a charter member of the Neshannock Alliance Church on S. Keel Ridge Rd. in Hermitage. She was a woman of strong faith and had a lifelong commitment to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A selfless woman, Marge devoted her life to her family and church. She loved to read, work on word hunt puzzles and play 'skipbo' with Betty Blair, her caregiver for the past five months.

Her husband, August Robert Miller, whom she married November 21, 1940, passed away December 12, 2000.

Surviving are: two daughters, Jeannette L. Clinger and her husband Henry, Lackawannock Twp.; and Margaret A. Kanaan and her husband Fred, Nokomis, FL; four sons, Terry L. Miller and his wife Bess, Caddo Mills, Texas; Richard P. Miller and his wife Linda, Boulder City, NV; Thomas W. Miller and his wife Sally, Ft. Myers, FL; and Gary R. Miller and his wife Pam, Winston-Salem, NC; thirteen grandchildren, Jonathan Miller, Marti (Clinger) Nehlen; Matthew, Adam and John Kanaan; Richard and Raymond Miller; Terry Leonard, Leanne (Leonard) Sadlier; and Joshua, Timothy, Gregory and Daniel Miller; five great-grandchildren, Blane, Liberty, Madison, Eric and Abigail; a sister, Betty L. Geniviva, Ellwood City, PA; two brothers, Paul C. Kennedy; and John J. Kennedy and his wife Grace, all New Castle; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Kennedy, New Castle.

Besides her parents and husband, Marge was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine I. Baker, Thelma L. St. John and Anna A. Nene; and three brothers, Merle F., Claire L. and Kenneth L. Kennedy.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bill Rudge Ministries of Living Truth, Inc., 280 N. Buhl Farm Dr., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
