Margaret B. Mickey Hurley, 82, of Union Township passed away the morning of Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.

Mickey, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in New Castle on Jan. 16, 1933, to the late Darrell and Frances Fleckenstein Burke.

She was a 1951 graduate of New Castle Area High School.

Mickey married William T. Hurley in 1961, and he preceded her in death in 1996.

She was formerly employed as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone Co.

Mickey enjoyed cooking, reading, keeping up with current events and, most of all, spending time with her family.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church, Mary, Mother of Hope Parish.

Mickey is survived by her daughter, Moira Hurley Criscito of New Castle; her son, Liam J. Hurley and his wife, Qin, of Columbus, Ohio; her three grandsons, Padraig and Eamon Hurley and Michael Criscito; and her two sisters, Shirley Suber and Kay Salamon, both of New Castle.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Miriam Stafford and Carole Mae Holzinger.

In keeping with Mickey's wishes, services were private.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday at St. Mary's Church.

She was laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, next to her husband, William.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.,  111 W. Falls St.
