Obituary

Margaret B. "Peggy" Campbell, 74, of Transfer, passed away three days after her husband, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle.


Mrs. Campbell was born on May 14, 1950, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Eleanor (Hudspeth) Hoffman and attended Sharpsville High School.


A dedicated homemaker and military wife, she took great pride in caring for others, and being a Brownie Troop Leader. Peggy also enjoyed making crafts, especially crocheting. At one time, she made enough blankets for every patient at the Butler Co. VA Hospital.


Peggy was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon. She was also an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6404, Sharpsville.
Her husband, James Campbell, III, whom she married on June 17, 1972, passed away on May 27, 2024.


She is survived by a daughter, Jolene Camley (Glenn), Boscawen, NH; two grandchildren, Hailey and Coby Camley; two sisters, Mary Brown, Hubbard, OH, and Donna Meyers (Scott), Transfer; two brothers, Thomas Hoffman (Carol), Hermitage, and William Hoffman, Akron, OH; a brother-in-law, James Glus, Transfer; and many nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by a son, James Campbell, IV; a sister, Jerre Glus; and a brother-in-law, Bert Vigus.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 6404, 215 N. Walnut St., Sharpsville, PA 16150.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (06/05/2024) in St. Joseph's Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, with Rev. James Power, pastor as celebrant.
