Obituary

Margaret M. Atz, formerly of Hermitage, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, April 8, 2018, in St. Paul's Villas, Greenville. She was 94.

Mrs. Atz was born October 1, 1923, in Grindstone, Pa., one of 13 children born to the late Joseph and Catherine (Locke) Janos. She was a graduate of Red Stone High School in Republic, Pa. and was employed as a factory worker for the war efforts during WW II. She was also a bookkeeper for her family's business in Grindstone. Margaret and her husband moved to Hermitage in 1999.

A homemaker, she was a former member of St. Mary's Church, Brownsville, Pa., where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. Her husband of 63 years, Henry Atz, whom she married July 19, 1947, passed away May 18, 2010.

Surviving are: two daughters, Kathleen Britvich and her husband Michael, of Hadley, Pa.; and Francine Bossio and her husband Bruce, of Tygh Valley, OR; a grandson, Dr. Michael Britvich and his wife Jeanice, of New Wilmington, Pa.; two great grandchildren, whom she adored, Kayce and Memphis Britvich; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Carolyn (Janos) Blake. Peg's greatest joy was spending time with her family, who will deeply miss her, particularly her great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Margaret, who was the last of her immediate family, was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Home's, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, Pa. 16125.

Calling hours will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in the St. Rose Cemetery chapel, Dutch Lane, Hermitage.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, in the cemetery chapel, with Very Rev. Richard J. Allen, E.V., pastor of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, as celebrant.

Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermitage.
