Obituary

Madeline Davelli, 95, of Hermitage, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in St. John XXIII Home.

Mrs. Davelli was born on April 1, 1929, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Ralph A. DiMuccio Sr. and Louise (DeCarbo) DiMuccio. She was a 1947 graduate of New Castle High School.

On August 26, 1950, Madeline married the late Thomas A. Davelli, Sr., in St. Joseph the Worker Church, New Castle. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2005.

Prior to her marriage, Madeline worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Anthony Masters in New Castle. In her later years, she was a salesclerk for JCPenney in the Southern Park Mall.

Madeline was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, and volunteered for many years at St. John XXIII Home.

A talented, gifted and meticulous artist, Madeline created many beautiful things for family and friends.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who nurtured and cared for her family throughout her life. She is survived by a son, Thomas A. Davelli, Jr., of Amherst, OH; her daughter, Charlene Gilson, of Hubbard, OH; two sisters, Patricia Iwanejko and her husband Jerry, of Volant, PA, and Conne Mayle and her husband Bob, of Hubbard; two granddaughters, DeAnna DeMonaco (David), of New Castle, and Corinne Davelli (Andrew Warren, of Hubbard; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Sofia Gearhart; two step-grandchildren, Kellie Shipman (Steven), and Darren Gilson (Anna); and five step-greatgrandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Madeline was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Davelli Gearhart; four brothers, Dominic "Chubby", Thomas, Ralph "Bo" and Michael DiMuccio; and a son-in-law, Thomas Gilson.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (03/15/2025) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
