Maceo Elliot Hill Sr. departed this life on Saturday. May 16, 2026. He was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, family man, and friend whose presence brought strength, wisdom, and laughter to those who knew him.
Maceo proudly served his country in the United States Marines, carrying that sense of dedication and discipline throughout his life. After his military service, he worked for many years in the steel mill, where he was known as a hardworking and dependable man. He was also a proud 32nd Degree Mason, valuing brotherhood, service, and community.
Maceo truly enjoyed life. He loved riding his scooter, listening to music, spending time at the casino, and most importantly, creating memories with family and friends. Whether it was sharing stories, laughter, or simply enjoying the moment, he had a way of making people feel welcomed and loved.
Maceo leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Savage Hill, of Sharon; his children, Maceo Hill Jr., of New Castle, PA; his daughters, Raven Hill of Farrell PA; his stepsons, John and Commodore Taylor, both of Ohio; a stepdaughter, Ramunda Taylor, Sharon; his grandchildren, Deonte Hill, Ratasha Hill, Tamia Hill, Samyra Talbert, Demari Talbert, Kayla Knight,Tamia Hopson, Reauna Russell, Jayden Taylor, John Taylor Avianna and Ryan Taylor; his great grandchildren, Ky’Zaire and Ke’Lanii Hill, Davonte Hill, Khari Huddleston Jr. , Sayomi Franklin, Nova and Commodore Jr. Taylor, Khalil and Khalif Hopson, Korey Khaliya Hopson, and Masiah Miller and Armani Williams.
Also surviving are three sisters, Gayle Hill, of Youngstown, OH, Alice “Lenora” Hill, of Wheatland, PA, and Andrea McCrary, of California, four brothers, John A. Hill, Jr, of New Jersey, Darryl Hill, of State College, PA, and Patrick Arnold, of Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Maceo was preceded in death by his father, John A Hill Sr.; his mother, Mary Alice Hill; his grandparents, Carrie and Ernest Taylor; two brothers, Robert and Ivan Hill; and his grandson, Khalil (Champ) Hopson Sr.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday (05/26/2026) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with his nephew, Rev. Robert Brown, and his niece, Laverne Harmon, officiating.
Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
