Obituary

Lucille 'Lucy' V. McClafferty, Patagonia area of Hermitage, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Thursday (6-28-12) at 11:50a.m. in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System of natural causes. She was 88.

She was born in Sharon August 17, 1923 the daughter of Dominic and Angeline Mancini Albanese.

A life long area resident, she attended Hickory, or what is now known as Hermitage Schools.

In her early years she worked at the former Dog House on E. State Street, Sharon. She later gained employment with the former Valley View Store in Brookfield, Ohio where she worked in their Craft department until her retirement in 1990.

A homemaker, she belonged to Sacred Heart Church, Sharon. Lucy was a member and familiar face at the Sons of Italy where she ran their Spaghetti dinners and worked bingo for many years. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and she loved to cook and she also loved a good game of Scrabble.

She is survived by her three sons, Donald J. McClafferty Jr. and his wife Lynn B. of Hermitage, Thomas A. McClafferty and his wife Lynn M., Streetsboro, OH, and Robert M. McClafferty and his wife Joanne S., Vermilion, Oh; two sisters, Phyllis E. Metrick, Hermitage, and Rose M. Beader and her husband Bob, South PymatuningTwp., one brother, Frank J. Albanese and his wife Ann E., Largo Fl. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Sean (Tammie) McClafferty, Jason 'Spank' (Tanya) McClafferty, Brett and Erin McClafferty, Stacey (Aaron) Wilfing, Steven(Teniele) Cochern, Stephanie (Kilby) Schwarck, and Chadd Cochern; 15 great grandchildren, Baylie, Creed, Canon, and Kate McClafferty, Zoe, Wren, and Gavin Wilfing, Teagan and Daine Cochern, Mackenzie, Codey, Kylie, and Casey Schwarck, and Chadd Cochern Jr., and Jordan Cochern.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Carl Dominic McClafferty, a sister Jean R. Morford, and two brothers, Harmon and William N. Albanese, and her former husband Donald J. McClafferty Sr.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday (7-2-12) in Sacred Heart Church 40 S. Irvine Ave., Sharon, with Rev. Henry C. Andae, pastor of Sacred Heart Church as the celebrant.

Internment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
