Lucille H. Metz, formerly of West Middlesex, passed away at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 90.
Mrs. Metz was born December 13, 1926, in Sharon, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Mashank Kraynok.
She was raised in Sharpsville and was a 1945 graduate of Sharpsville High School.
In addition to raising her five children, Lucille also helped her husband at Metz Bakery, Sharon, a business which he owned and operated for many years. She worked in many capacities which included anything from cake decorating to book keeping, but always found a way to keep a balance between work and family.
Lucille was a longtime member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage.
A talented artist, she enjoyed painting and sketching. Lucille also loved to travel, particularly to her condo in Florida with her husband and taking trips to visit her grandchildren. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren, and made a portrait sketch of each, which she had given to them as a gift.
Her husband, George T. Metz, Sr., passed away in 1990.
Surviving are: three daughters, Laura Manhollan and her husband John, Hubbard, OH; Holly Stanton and her husband John, Olathe, KS; and Barbara Leo, Wexford, PA; two sons, George T. Metz, Jr. and his wife Francine, West Middlesex; and Daniel Metz and his wife Michele, Cumming, GA; two sisters, Carolyn Vasko and her husband William, Hermitage; and Camilla Conlin and her husband William, Warren, OH. Also surviving are her 12 grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
In addition to her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mary Agnes Toth; Martha Hawkins; Janet Kraynok; and Joanne Kepler; and two brothers Edward, and George Kraynok; and two grandsons, George and John Stanton.

Calling hours will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday (2-19-17) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Panachida prayer service will be offered at 11:15 a.m., in the funeral home, followed by Funeral Divine Liturgy at noon Monday (2-20-17) in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, with Rev. Kevin Marks, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage.
