Obituary

Lucille Lillian Hannon, 502 Fairfield Ave., New Castle, PA, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at her residence with her daughter's-in-law at her side. She was 91.

Mrs. Hannon was born March 26, 1919 in New Castle a daughter of the late Peter Paul and Monika Goszko Jaworski.

A lifelong area resident, she was a 1938 graduate of Union High School. She was a homemaker and a charter member of St. Camillus Church, New Castle.

Lucille enjoyed gardening, playing cards and was a member of numerous bowling leagues. She was also a member of the Cameos, the Prime Timers and the Challenges. Years earlier, she and her husband were active with the Knights of Columbus, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Elk's Lodge. Lucille's greatest joy was the time she shared with her children and grandchildren.

Her loving husband of 66 years, Joe Hannon, whom she married November 14, 1942, passed away September 1, 2008.

Surviving are: two daughters, Elaine Simmons and her husband John, Grand Rapids, MI; and Eileen Leight and her husband Terry M., Winchester, VA; two sons, Daniel J. Hannon, III and his wife Marcie; and David J. Hannon and his wife Susan, all New Castle; seven grandchildren, Tara and Lindsey Simmons; Chrisha Jordan Espinoza; Daniel J. Hannon, IV; Jaclyn Busin, Diana Hannon and Hunter Leight; three great grandchildren, Caleb, Rudy and Nina Espinoza; a sister-in-law, Jennie Jaworski, New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathleen Hannon; four sisters, Mary Cline, Victoria Banks and twins, Martinus and Macellus who died in infancy; four brothers, Alexander 'Walter', Peter, Frank and Joseph Jaworski; and a niece, Marjorie McKissick.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Jameson Hospice of Lawrence County, 1211 Wilmington Ave., New Castle, PA 16105.

Calling hours will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday (5-6-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday (5-7-10) in St. Camillus Church, 314 W. Englewood Ave., New Castle, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski, pastor, as celebrant. A prayer service will be held at 9:20 a.m. Friday in the funeral home before processing to the church.

Interment: Madonna Cemetery, Union Township.
