Obituary

Lucille Elaine Chiodo of Shenango Township passed away unexpectedly at 9:27 p.m. Thursday, November 24, 2016, in the intensive care unit of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 79.

Mrs. Chiodo was born October 15, 1937, in Girard, Ohio, a daughter of Joseph and Caroline DiCesare Sabino.

She was raised in Girard and was a 1955 graduate of Girard High School.

Lucille was employed by the West Middlesex Area School District as head cook in the Luther Lowe Elementary School for more than thirty years.

She was an active member of the First Assembly of God, Hermitage.

An exceptional homemaker, Lucille loved to cook and was well known for her delicious spaghetti dinners she prepared every Sunday in her home.

For many years, she and her sisters loved spending Sunday evening's polka dancing.

Lucille was very family oriented and cherished the time she shared with her husband and family.

Her husband of 58 years, Anthony P. Chiodo, whom she married May 17, 1958, passed away June 4 of this year.

Surviving are: a daughter, Toni Chiodo, West Middlesex; two sons, Pete Chiodo and his wife Tammy, Howland, OH; and Michael Chiodo and his wife Tracie, Charleston, SC; ten grandchildren, Alyssa Means and her husband Mark; Ashley Radkowski and her husband Ryan; Brittaney Cardinal and her husband Aaron; Michael Chiodo and his wife Heather; Ian Chiodo and his wife Camille; Abbie, Arica and Tyler Davis; Gina Runnels and her husband Zach; and Anthony Chiodo; and 11 great grandchildren, Mason, Logan, Cali, Miliyah, Brooklyn, Alexis, Natalie, Elijah, Brayden, Gianna and Jordan. She also leaves three sisters, Joann Biamonte and her husband Terry, Girard; Jean Mislai, also Girard; and Maryann Adams and her husband George, East Brady, PA; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dr. John and Geri Marine, Pontiac, MI; Cal and Anita Tryon, Brookfield; and John and Michelle Chiodo, Sharpsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, Pete and Louis Sabino; and two sisters, Katie Wyko and Fran Trombetta.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016, in the First Assembly of God, Hermitage, with Rev. Kenneth Martin, pastor, officiating.
