Lucille A. Bukovinsky, 1222 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday (1-20-09) in the transitional care unit of the Sharon Regional Health System following a period of failing health. She was 63.
Mrs. Bukovinsky was born December 13, 1945 in Sharon a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Florence Sansone Patrizi.
A lifelong resident of the Shenango Valley, she was a 1964 graduate of Farrell High School.
Lucy, as many knew her, was employed at Imperial Dry Cleaners during the 1960's when it was located in the Hickory Plaza. She retired in 2007 as the cafeteria director from Monsignor Geno Monti Parochial Grade School, Farrell, where she was employed for more than twenty years.
A homemaker, she was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and the Bethany Club. Lucy was a member of many card clubs and a member of the former Farrell Kiwanianne's. She was an avid bingo and bocce player and always looked forward to her annual trip to Atlantic City with her husband and friends.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she is survived by: her husband at home, Charles S. Bukovinsky, whom she married June 18, 1966 in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell; two daughters, Lisa Marie Baker and her husband Christopher, Hartford, Ohio; and Holly Lynn Ion and her husband Michael, Wheatland; four grandchildren, Olivia Grace Baker, Jacob Christopher Baker, Maria Irene Baker and Michael Joseph Ion; two sisters, Rosemarie Ray and her husband Donald, Linesville, PA; and Theresa Hockemeire and her husband Melvin, Vincennes, Indiana; three brothers, Nick Patrizi and his wife Joann, Enid, Oklahoma; Joseph Patrizi and his wife Frances, Niles, Ohio; and Robert Patrizi and his wife Mary Ann, Grosse Isle, MI; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marc and Paula Cica, Hermitage; and John and Lee Ann Cica, Pittsburgh; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by an infant brother.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday (1-23-09) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday (1-24-09) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
