Louise Krofcheck of Hermitage passed away at
6:55 a.m.
Friday, March 31, 2017, in Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage. She was 94.
Mrs. Krofcheck was born December 7, 1922, in Aliquippa, PA, a daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Hornak) Peidle.
She was a lifelong resident of the Shenango Valley with the exception of a short time away while her husband was stationed out of town with the US Army. Louise was a meat cutter for 25 years at the former Hanson's Meat, Sharon.
Louise was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Farrell, which later merged with St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, which recently merged with St. Anthony's Church, both in Sharon.
She enjoyed gardening and going for rides to the Shenango Dam to watch bald eagles.
Her husband, John W. Krofcheck, whom she married on July 4, 1947, preceded her in death on March 10, 2013.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mary Calvin and her husband Robert, Sharon; a sister, Sophia Elliott, Sharon; three grandchildren, Brenda Black and her husband Robert; Robert Calvin Jr. and his wife Joy; and Susan McBride and her husband David; six great grandchildren, twins, Kamala and Keeley Black; Mackenzie Bittler and her husband Steve; Rachelle and Rebecca Calvin; and Riley McBride; and two great great grandchildren, Cameron and Bailey Bittler.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Krofcheck; a son, Richard Krofcheck; two brothers, Joseph and Robert Peidle; and four sisters, Ann, Margaret and Mary Peidle and Helen Kizima.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Anthony's Church, 804 Idaho St., Sharon, PA 16146.
