Obituary
Louise M. Glass of The Bentley House, 2400 Garden Way, Hermitage, PA; formerly of Elm Ave., Sharon, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday (12-16-09) in the intensive care unit of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Glass was born June 25, 1924 in Altoona, PA a daughter of the late Carl and Marie Layton Wolf.
She was a 1942 alumna of Altoona High School and moved to the area in the mid 1950's.
A devoted homemaker, Louise was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.
Her husband of 60 years, Howard J. Glass, whom she married August 12, 1947, passed away October 9, 2007.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mary Grove and her husband Bradley, Sharon; three sons, Joseph C. Glass and his wife Marilyn, Huber Ht's., Ohio; James H. Glass and his companion Debbi Guy, Langhorne, PA; and Gerald B. Glass and his wife Carole, Las Vegas, NV; four grandsons, Matthew Glass and his wife Jeanna; Timothy Clark; Joshua Glass; and Christian Glass; six granddaughters, Melissa Bittler and her husband David; Kimberly Grove; Ashley Grove; Janet Grove; Gabriella Glass; and Caitlynn Glass; 4 great-grandchildren, Alec Bittler, Aidan Bittler, Aida Grove and Avery Bittler; a sister, Anna Stayer, Altoona, PA; a brother, Vincent Wolf and his wife Jo, Duncansville, PA; and a sister-in-law, Betty Wolf, Elyria, Ohio.
Besides her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline A. Glass Clark; a granddaughter, Amanda J. Glass; a sister, Gertrude Davis; a brother, James Wolf; and her step-mother, Ann Wolf.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday (12-18-09) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday (12-19-09) in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
