Louis (Ljubivoj) Vuich, 111 Washington St., Farrell, passed away peacefully at 8 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, in the comfort of his home, after an extended illness. He was 84.
Mr. Vuich was born March 10, 1927 in Sharon a son of the late Stevo and Zlatica 'Goldie' Moskaljevic Vujic (Vuich).
He was a 1945 graduate of Farrell High School and received his bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University.
Louis served with the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He retired in 1997 from Sears Roebuck and Co., Shenango Valley Mall in Hermitage, after 25 years of service He also worked for JC Penney, Co. and was a clinical Hypnotherapist.
A professional musician, Louis played the stand up base and sang vocals. He played in the Drina Orchestra (along with his brother Bran); the Veseli Orchestra; the Mirko Roknich Orchestra (which played on cruise ships and throughout the United States at many Serbian festivals); and later formed the Brac'a Orchestra with his brother Bran and Bill Novosel and David Spanja. Louis was a lifelong active member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage where he was a choir member, served as President, and volunteered in many capacities. Louis' love for his church, heritage and music was only surpassed by his love for his family.
Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Gloria 'Jean' Smith, whom he married January 24, 1981; seven children, Timothy Vuich and his wife Vicki, Lafayette, Indiana; Cynthia Kerr and her husband Harold, Sharon; Dr. Denise Vuich and her husband Dr. James Detelich, Clear Water Beach, Florida; Catherine Vuich, Farrell; Marcus Vuich and his wife Tiffany, Hermitage; Shon Gordon and his wife Allison, Farrell; and Jason Gordon, Sharon; nine grandchildren, J.J., Brittany, Michael, Cory, Nicholas, Kylie, Dylan, Graycee and Avary; a brother, Bran Vuich and his wife Rosella, Hermitage; and two nephews and four nieces.
Besides his parents, Louis was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete and Alex Millesen; and Elija Vuich; two sisters, Bertha Gracanin and Roberta Gracenin; and a great grandson, Andre Line.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon, where a Pomen service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage, with the Rev. Milovan Z. Katanic, pastor, officiating. A Pomen service will be held at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home before leaving for the church.
Interment: Crown Hill Cemetery, Vienna, Ohio, with military honors.
