Obituary

Louis William Resler, St. Paul Homes, Greenville, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully at 7:55 p.m. on Saturday (11-29-08) at his residence of natural causes. He was 97.
He was born in Farrell on Saturday, May 6, 1911, the son of Andrew and Rose Kruse Resler.
A lifelong area resident, he attended Farrell Schools.
In 1973, he retired with 45 years of serivce from the former Sharon Transformer division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he was a group leader in Building B-10.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.
He belonged to the International Union of Electrical Workers local union #617 and both the Westinghouse Clerks and Retirees Associations.
In his early years, he enjoyed bowling with both the WPIC and Sr. Citizens Bowling leagues.
His wife Anna Virostick whom he married on April 26, 1920, passed away on September 18, 2002
He is survived by his three sons Louis W. Resler Jr. and his wife Beverly of Bethlehem, Pa., James Edward Resler and his wife Florence, Ballston Spa NY., and Paul Andrew Resler, Centennial, CO., eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Kathryn Behun, three brothers, Andrew, Joseph, and Frank Resler, one grandson Timothy Resler.
Calling hours: 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (12-4-08) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday (12-5-08) at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, with Rev. J. Thomas Dugan, senior associate as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
