Obituary

Louis Anthony Paoletta, Sr., formerly of Sharon, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, in Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Niles, Ohio after an extended illness. He was 77.
Mr. Paoletta was born November 2, 1934 in Sharon a son of the late Michael and Mary Conti Paoletta.
He was a 1953 graduate of Sharon High School and served with the US Army.
Lou was an agent with Western and Southern Life Insurance Company and Motorist Mutual for thirty years. He then worked at the former General American Transportation Corporation's Masury plant until its closing; Prizant's Carpet Sales, Boardman, Ohio; and General Dynamics, Lima, Ohio.
He was a member of the Son's of Italy, Shenango Valley Lodge, Sharon. Lou was an accordion player and provided the entertainment at many weddings for more than thirty years as part of the Lou Paoletta Trio. He enjoyed family gatherings and reunions, where he was often the life of the party, and spending time with his many nieces and nephews.
Surviving are: a daughter, Gina Paoletta, Sharon; five sons, Louis Paoletta, Jr. and his wife Patty, Sharpsville; Paul Paoletta and his wife Tracy, Hermitage; Donald Paoletta and his wife Karin, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; Vincent Paoletta and his wife Yong Hui, Yorktown, Virginia; and Brian Paoletta, Charleston, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Angeline Triggiani, Sharon; and Lucy Flood, Farrell; two brothers, Anthony Paoletta and his wife Edna, Hermitage; and Philip Paoletta, Hermitage; several loving nieces and nephews; his former wife and friend, Janet Mikulin, Sharon; and a sister-in-law, Theresa Paoletta, Hermitage.
Besides his parents, Lou was preceded in death by his wife Juanita; three brothers, Marco, Frank and Fred Paoletta; and a sister, Rose Magnu.
The family would like to thank the staff at Shepherd of the Valley for their exceptional care during Lou's illness.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon, with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, officiating.
