Louis F. Manilla, Madison St., Sharon, passed away unexpectedly at his home at 4:46 p.m. on Saturday (6-27-09). He was 79.
He was born on May 23, 1930 in Sharon the son of Michael and Martha Farina Manilla.
A lifelong city resident, he attended Sharon schools.
He retired in 1973 from Warehouse Sales in downtown Sharon where he had worked for 35 years.
Mr. Manilla loved spending time with his family, watching Television, and simply tending to his Koi pond in his yard.
His wife the former Margaret Neely whom he married on March 28, 1964, survives at the residence.
He also leaves two daughters, Luann Hawthorne and her family of Geneva, Alabama; Martha L. McIntosh and her husband Edward of Cleveland, Ohio, his son, Joseph L. Manilla at home. He is survived by a step brother Frank Cesario, Hermitage; a step sister, Kathy Cesario, Texas, a half brother Michael, and half sister Linda, both Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louis Manilla, and a sister, Mary Manilla.

Service: A funeral service will be held on Wednesday (7-01-09) in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Richard Roberts, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Sharon, officiating.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
