Louis Farmartino, 124 Shenango Blvd., Farrell, passed away peacefully in his sleep at 9:53 a.m. at his residence. He was 49.
He was born on December 11, 1959 in Farrell, the son of Rocky A. Farmartino Sr. and Ascension 'T I' Campos Farmartino.
A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Farrell High School in 1978.
Lou was a tradesman by profession and worked as a private contractor specializing in tile and concrete work. He also worked at one time for the former Sharon Steel Corporation in their Farrell plant.
He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and the Italian Home, both Farrell.
He was a loving son, brother, and uncle who found his greatest joy spending time with his nieces and nephews who will sadly miss him.
He is survived by his mother with whom he lived, two sisters, Tina Antonucci and her husband Dr. Mark A. Antonucci DMD, Jamie Piccolino and her husband Joseph Piccolino, all of Oakmont, Pa. two brothers, Rocky A Farmartino and his wife (Jule), Hermitage, and Mark E. Farmartino and his wife Lorie, Farrell, two uncles John Farmartino and his wife Mary Ann, Sharon, and Arthur Farmartino and his wife Josephine Scottsdale, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews who were like his own.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to his church, Our Lady of Fatima 601 Roemer Blvd, Farrell Pa. 16121
Calling hours: 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday (12-29-08) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
Vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home for family and friends.
Services: A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Fatima Church at the convenience of the family with the time and date to be announced.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Farrell.
