Obituary

Louis F. Donadio, Sharon, passed away peacefully of natural causes at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday morning (6-4-09) in the Intensive Care Unit of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. He was 90.
He was born on October 10, 1918 in Sharon, the son of Michael and Josephine White Donadio. A life long area resident, he graduated from Sharon High School in 1938 and matriculated to what is now known as Youngstown State University. Mr. Donadio was employed by Penn Power for 43 years as a line clerk and retired in February of 1981. He was an active member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon where he enjoyed assisting as an offertory assistant and as an alter server during Funeral Liturgies. As a member of the Penn Power Men's Club, he enjoyed writing and publishing the monthly newsletter for the Retirees. He was a member of the American Legion Post 160, and volunteered at the Prince of Peace Center, both Farrell. A decorated war veteran, he served with the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged with numerous medals and citations.
Mr. Donadio is survived by his wife the former Helen Mastroianni whom he married on April 24, 1944. Also surviving are his son, Robert "Bob" Donadio and his wife Patricia, New Castle, and a grandson, Ross Donadio of Manhattan, New York.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday (6-8-09) in St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor as celebrant. Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Theresa Hazi.
