Lorraine M. Fuqua of 25 S. Round St. New Castle, PA passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 9:00 am in her residence. She was 58.

Mrs. Fuqua was born in New Castle, PA on March 31, 1951, a daughter of Wilbur and Willie May Cox Taylor.

She was a graduate of New Castle High School and went on to Nursing School where she became a registered nurse. She was employed at Ellwood City Hospital.

Lorraine was a member of Second Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She also enjoyed softball and most of all loved life.

She is survived by, her husband, John Fuqua, whom she married November 12, 1988; 2 sons, Lamont Taylor of Cincinnati, OH and John Fuqua Jr. of New Castle; 6 step children, Tessa Adelekan, Brian Thomas, Derek, Trenton, Terri, and Johnnal Fuqua; a brother Eugene and his wife Estelle Taylor of New Castle; She is also survived by several grand children, great grandchildren, step nieces and nephews, and step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Johnson; a brother, Wilbur J. Taylor.

Calling Hours will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 West Falls St. New Castle, PA 16101.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11 am in the Second Baptist Church with Rev. Norman H. Hunt.
