Obituary

Lori Colt Davis, incredible mother, wife, daughter, sister, educator and friend, went to heaven peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday.  She was 56.

Lori was born on December 11 th , 1959 to Anne Tomko Colt and Ed Colt.  She was a devoted and loving daughter, who brought so much joy to her parents and siblings, Eddie and Sandi.

In 1988, Lori married her husband Tod. They loved each other more and more each day, and had the most fun waterskiing together.  Their greatest accomplishment was raising their two daughters, Elizabeth, 25, and Hannah, 22.  Lori was absolutely born to be a mother.  To her daughters, she was not only the most wonderful mom, but their best friend and soulmate.

She delighted in spending time with her nieces, Caity and Logan, and her nephew, Jack.   Her greatest joy in life was her family, whom she loved so much.

Professionally, Lori was a passionate educator for 35 years.  In the classroom, Lori had a knack for making learning exciting.  She adored each and every one of her students.  Later in her career, she transitioned into administration as a supervisor of special education.  Her fierce advocacy for children was truly remarkable.

Lori was always the life of every party.  She got so excited for Pittsburgh Pirates fireworks nights, snowskiing vacations, and planning bus trips to musicals.   She would never turn down a night at the Hofbräuhaus with friends.  Despite her recent battle with leukemia and her nearly 20-year battle with breast cancer, there is no doubt that she won her courageous war against disease.  She brought honor to each and every person who has been hurt by cancer.

In heaven, Lori joins her brother Eddie, who passed away in 2005.  Her family will carry her upbeat, beautiful spirit with them until they join her again.

There will be a private celebration of Lori's life for family and close friends this weekend.
