Loretta M. Repas, 211 S. Buhl Farm Dr., Hermitage, PA passed away peacefully at 12:55 a.m. Thursday (6-3-10) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage. She was 87.
Mrs. Repas was born February 20, 1923 in Sharon a daughter of the late Dominic and Mabel Martingnoni Parola.
She was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Sharon High School. Loretta was very proud of her Italian heritage and during high school she studied for a year in Italy. She returned home due to WW II.
She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. Years ago, Loretta, her husband and her brother Pie owned and operated the former Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Hermitage. She will be remembered by many for her fondness of animals, particularly cats. Loretta was a charter member and active for many years with the former Animal Aid Society. She was also a member and past president of the Democratic Women's Club of Mercer County.
Her husband, Andrew J. 'Rip' Repas, whom she married February 7, 1946, passed away December 22, 2000.
Surviving are: a daughter, Karen L. Zorzi and her husband James, Hermitage; a son, Richard L. Repas and his wife Joanne, Sharon; five grandchildren, Brian Zorzi, Amy Neubert; and Erica, Joshua and Hannah Repas; and four great grandchildren, Leah and Alaina Zorzi; and Christian and Hope Neubert.
Besides her parents and husband, Loretta was preceded in death by two sons, Drew and Mark Repas; and two brothers, Louis and Pierre 'Pie' Parola.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, Inc., 94 Donation Rd., Greenville, PA 16125; or to the Community Food Warehouse, 109 S. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday (6-6-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday (6-7-10) in Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, with the Msgr. Edward Zeitler, senior associate, as celebrant.
