Obituary

Lois "Lala" Mattozzi of Farrell passed away at 2:44 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2016. She was 80.

Mrs. Matozzi was born July 1, 1935, in Sharon, a daughter of Ralph and Rebecca Negrea Marks.

She was a lifelong area resident and a 1953 graduate of Farrell High School.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.

Lala, as she was known by many, was an accomplished seamstress and sewed for many people, including her family and friends. She enjoyed arts and crafts and made beautiful angel pins as a gift of thanks to many.

Lois cherished her time with family, particularly her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed attending their activities and athletic events.

She loved watching basketball and her favorite players were LeBron James and Michael Jordan. She was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lois was very kind and generous and was loved by all who knew her.

Surviving are: her husband, Angelo "Ang" Mattozzi, whom she married May 8, 1954, in the former St. Anthony's Church, Farrell; two daughters, Kimberly A. Mirizio, Hubbard, Ohio; and Terry A. Stanton and her husband Terry R., Vicksburg, Mississippi; a son, Todd A. Mattozzi and his wife Toni L., Austintown, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Shaun, Brandon, Mike, Shana, Summer, Marissa, Sam and Austin; 5 great-grandchildren, Hudson, Sophia, Strickland, Corrin and Everett; a sister, Judy Zajac, Farrell; and several nieces and nephews.

Lala was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph Marks, Jr.; and a nephew, Michael Zajac.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105.

Calling hour will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass on Friday, June 3, 2016 , in St. Joseph Church, Sharon.

Funeral Mass will be 1:30 p.m. Friday , in the church, with the Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
