Obituary

Lois Virginia Finzel, Sharon, Pa., passed away peacefully with her family at her side at 10:50 a.m. Monday (7-2-12) in the Villas at St. Paul's Home, Greenville. She was 84.

Mrs. Finzel was born May 18, 1928 in Bradford, Pa., the daughter of George and Marjorie Peterson Hanson. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1946.

Devoted first and foremost to her family, she also worked at Bell Telephone as a supervisor and retired in 1984 with 38 years of service.

She belonged to Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Women's Friendship Club. She also volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program at Christ Lutheran Church for 15 years.

In years past Lois enjoyed both bowling and swimming.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she loved cooking, baking, and hosting family get togethers, she will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Her husband of 59 years Charles W. Finzel whom she married June 20, 1953 in Bradford, Pa., survives at home.

She also leaves her two sons, Gary Finzel and his wife Nancy, Sharon, and Robert Finzel and his wife Cindy, Warren, Pa., her grandchildren, Kristen Finzel Lewis and her husband Mike, Uniontown, OH, Erica Finzel and Jeremy Baxter, Akron, OH, Jamie Finzel and Andy Finzel, Sharon and a great grandson, Brayden Baxter, also Akron. She is also survived by her three brothers, William Hanson, Jack Hanson and his wife Gloria, all of Bradford, and Richard Hanson and his wife Sue of Mentor, OH, and a sister Harriet Hultberg, also of Bradford.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday (7-6-12) in Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage with Rev. Dr. Donald Russell, retired Methodist Minister officiating. The family asks that everyone go directly to the church.

Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
