Obituary

Lois A. Cricks, 64 Stoneridge Blvd., Hermitage, formerly of 958 Mayfield Rd., Sharpsville, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Saturday (2-27-10) at her residence following an extended illness. She was 81.

Mrs. Cricks was born March 2, 1928 in Farrell a daughter of the late Hayden and Phyllis Turner Davis.

She was a 1946 graduate of Farrell High School and attended Grove City College.

After raising her children, Lois was employed by the former Baglier Buick and Cadillac, Sharon; in the offices of Dr. Robert E. Sass and Plaza Travel; and as an escort at the former Bortner Tours, S. Pymatuning Twp.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage and a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Sharpsville. Lois was a member of the Sharpsville Women's Club, The Order of the Eastern Star, Sharpsville; and the American Business Women's Association, Sharon. She was a volunteer at the Keystone Blind Association, Sharon, and also with Sharon Regional Hospice Home Care for twenty years. Earlier in her life, Lois served as a member and past president of the former Julia F. Buhl Girls Club, Board of Regents. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in her sewing and card clubs.

Her husband, Graaf O. 'Obie' Cricks, whom she married August 14, 1948, passed away April 22, 1992. Surviving are: two daughters, Jo Ann Skarosi and her husband David, Wheeling, IL; and Kathy Lazor and her husband John, Germantown, MD; three sons, Charles Cricks and his wife Katie, St. Michaels, MD; William Cricks, Silver Lake, WI; and Ben Cricks and his wife Mary, Sharpsville; nine grandchildren, Corinne, Alison, David, Steven, Christopher, Greg, Maggie, Emily and Annie; five great grandchildren, Kali, Jack, Hannah, Emma and Marley; and a brother, James Davis and his wife Lucille, Cincinnati, OH.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sharon Regional Hospice Home Care, 740 E. State St., Sharon, PA 16146.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday (3-2-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (3-3-10) in Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage, with the Rev. Dr. David Holste, pastor, officiating.
