Obituary

Lois Ann Brennan, Greenville, PA; formerly of Sharon, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Friday (9-24-10) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville, after a brief illness. She was 80.

Mrs. Brennan was born October 11, 1929 in Sharon, PA a daughter of the late Frederick Thomas and Irene Donahue Scragg.

She was a graduate of Sharon High School where she was a majorette in the marching band.

Lois retired in the 1990's from the former Thornton Hall Golden Dawn Grocery Store, Sharon, after more than 30 years as a cashier, head cashier and office clerk. She was previously employed at the former Tastee Bakery in downtown Sharon for ten years.

Lois was a member of St. Michael's Church, Greenville, and a former longtime member of St. Joseph Church in Sharon.

Her family was of the utmost importance to her and she enjoyed cooking and baking. Lois also loved her many dogs and was extremely attached to her present dog, Kupcake.

Her husband, Ronald P. Brennan, Sr., whom she married November 24, 1949, passed away January 11, 1992.

A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by four children and ten grandchildren: Margaret (Renee) Johnson and her husband Robert and their children Brittany, Alexis and Sara; Karen Ann Brennan; Dr. Ronald P. Brennan and his wife Monica and their children Patrick, Matthew, Marissa, Stephanie and Connor; and PA State Trooper Dan M. Brennan and his wife Susan and their children Abby and Andrew.

Besides her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Scragg.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Calling hours will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday (9-26-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday (9-27-10) in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
