Lois Arkwright, 90, of New Castle passed over into the loving arms of God and her awaiting heavenly family the afternoon of Monday Jan. 18, 2016, one day after her 90th birthday. Lois recently resided at Golden Hill Nursing Home.

Lois was born on Jan. 17, 1926, in New Castle, the second of nine children to Harold and Ethel Bartholomew Hutchison.

Lois was married on Sept. 14, 1968, to Gaylord Arkwright. He preceded her in death.

She spent her entire life in the New Castle area, working at Grider's Dairy and Fishers Big Wheel, besides being a housewife and mother.

Lois was known for her meticulously kept lawn, landscaping and a neat, clean house. She loved working outside and was caregiver to all.

Lois is survived by three sons, Rodger W. (Barbara) Green of New Castle, Gary L. (Mary Jo) Green of Enon Valley and George A. (Sandra) Green Jr. of Portersville.; three sisters, Ilene Bower of Franklin, Mary Spiker of Ellwood City and Elizabeth Parry of New Castle; three brothers, Harold Hutchison of New Castle, John Hutchison of New Wilmington and Frank Hutchison of New Castle; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceeded in death by two sisters, June Reiber and Ethel McClusky.

Lois's wishes were to have no calling hours and for each of us to celebrate her life in our own way.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
