Obituary

Service is Saturday for Ljubomir Rkman of Farrell, who passed away at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, in UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He was 46. Mr. Rkman was born Feb. 8, 1968, in Croatia, a son of Stojan and Ljubica (Postic) Rkman. He was educated in Croatia and immigrated to the United States in 1989. Louie, as he was known by many, worked in the trucking industry and owned and operated Aztec Express Inc., Farrell. He was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage. A man of good character, Louie was an extremely hard worker and believed he could accomplish anything through perseverance. He was intelligent, caring and a wonderful husband. Although he liked the simple things in life, he appreciated antique cars and motorcycles. He also enjoyed traveling, chess and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are: his loving wife, Abelina Romero (Marquez) Rkman, at home; his mother and father, Farrell; and a sister, Ivana Rkman and her son, Alex Ostojic, California. He also leaves his aunt and uncle, Katie and Mike Ivanovich, Farrell; and cousins, Michael and Robert Ivanovich. The Ivanovich family was instrumental in helping Louie make the United States his permanent home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday (1-23-15) in J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Service: 1 p.m. Saturday (1-24- 15) in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage, with the Rev. Milovan Z. Katanic, pastor, officiating. Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Hermitage.
