Obituary

Linda J. Stanton, Hermitage, passed away of natural causes at 11:57 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 64.

Mrs. Stanton was born May 12, 1948 in Sharon, a daughter of the late Michael and Eugenia 'Jennie' Moldovan Misik.

A lifelong area resident, she was a 1966 graduate of Farrell High School and attended Youngstown State University.

During the 1970's, Linda was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation for ten years. She later co-owned Bayberry West in Sharon from 1986 to 1999 and then worked at Surf 724 and Hickory Printing for approximately ten years.

She was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. Affectionately called 'LJMQ', Linda loved people and enjoyed her time with family and friends.

Surviving are: her husband, Edward P. Stanton, whom she married May 20, 1972 in the former St. Ann's Church, Farrell; a daughter, Meg E. Stanton, Pittsburgh; a son, Michael E. Stanton and his wife Shauna, Richmond, Virginia; a grandson, who was the light of her life, Andrew Stanton, also Richmond; a sister, Helaine Misik Ferringer, Farrell; and a brother, M. Jerome 'Jerry' Misik and his wife Kay, Tega Cay, South Carolina. She also leaves brothers- and sisters-in-law, John and Lois Stanton, Hermitage; Sarah (Stanton) and Cort McKee, Lake Placid, Florida; and Mary Kay (Stanton) and Tony Lufrano, Northridge, California; a special cousin, David Crompton and his wife Pat, Hermitage; special friends, Bonni and Sonny DePofi and Evelyn and Roger Anthony, all Hermitage; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Dr., Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, with the Rev. Jeffrey Noble, pastor, as celebrant.
