Linda Shaw, 61, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017, in UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Ms. Shaw was born November 24, 1955, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Walter Shaw, Jr. and Eyvonne Bethune Shaw.

She was raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1973.

She was employed by The Grove of New Castle as a nursing assistant, and previously worked in the same capacity for the Haven Convalescent Home, also New Castle.

Linda was a member of St. Luke AME Zion Church, New Castle. She was also a lifetime member of the NAACP.

Linda is survived by: two daughters, Angel Shaw, of Philadelphia, PA; and Velvet Wade, of New Castle; her father, Walter Shaw, Jr. and step-mother, Shirley Taylor Shaw, of Pittsburgh; and two brothers, Walter Shaw, III, of Pittsburgh; and Stephen Shaw and his wife Vicky, of Akron, OH.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Eyvonne Shaw.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday ( 1-14-17 ) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral service will be immediately following at 1 p.m. Saturday , in the funeral home, with Minister Michael Keyes officiating.
