Leslie C. Fisher, 88, of Portersville passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, May 18, 2018, in VNA, Western Pennsylvania – Inpatient Hospice, Butler, PA.

Mr. Fisher was born June 30, 1929, in Portersville, a son of the late Wendell T. and Clara B. (Myers) Fisher.

He was a lifelong resident of Portersville and attended Portersville High School.

Leslie was employed as a commercial truck driver for more than 65 years, working for several businesses throughout Lawrence and Butler County.

He was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, Portersville.

Leslie was also a member of the Portersville Keenagers and the Laurel Travel Club.

He enjoyed farming, particularly while riding a John Deere tractor. Leslie loved square dancing with his wife, Eleanor, and spending time with his family.

His beloved wife of 69 years, the former Eleanor M. Hallstein, whom he married Oct. 24, 1947, preceded him in death Sept. 12, 2017.

Surviving are: two daughters, Sue (Thomas) Moore, Portersville; and Connie (Thomas) Slater, New Castle; two sons, Wayne (Cheryl) Fisher, West Sunbury, Pa; and Terry Fisher, Ormond Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Leslie was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Glenn and Eldora McClymonds.

Calling hours will be 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday (5-21-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral service will be 6:30 p.m. Monday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Judith Wilson, pastor of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery, Slippery Rock Twp.
