No public services will be held for LeRoy M. Higgins of Forker Boulevard, Sharon, formerly of Market Street, Youngstown. He passed away peacefully at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, in his daughter's residence after an extended illness. He was 63.
Mr. Higgins was born June 24, 1946, in Youngstown, a son of Tommie Higgins Sr. and Alberta Thomas Higgins.
He was an alumnus of Rayen High School, Youngstown.
LeRoy was an Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoyed spending time with his friends at International Towers, Youngstown.
He is survived by: his companion, Virginia Washington, Youngstown; his three daughters, Yolanda Brooks and her husband Ernest, with whom he lived; Katina Robinson, Cleveland; and Carla Higgins, Youngstown; two sons, Lamont Higgins, Sharon; and LeRoy Higgins Jr., Youngstown; his wife, Martha J. Higgins, Sharon; three sisters, Beatrice Gray, Youngstown; and Lynda Wright and Denise Higgins, both Farrell; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Lee Davis and Marjorie Jackson; a brother, Tommie Higgins Jr.; and a grandson, DaWaylin M. Brooks.
