Leonard L. Kirby of 374 N. Perry Highway Lot 30, Mercer, PA. passed away at 8:06 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in Grove City Hospital. He was 50.

Mr. Kirby was born in Sharon, PA on September 26, 1959, a son of Leonard L. 'Bernie' and Judy Boggs Kirby.

He was employed at Kasgro Rail Car where he was a welder and laborer for the past 2 years.

Leonard was a member of the National Rifle Association, Hunters Association of American, and the Pro Bass Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed playing golf and pool. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife, Debra Alger Kirby, whom he married June 18, 1979; 3 daughters, Regina and her husband Eric Miller of Jackson Center, PA, Jessica Kirby and her fiancé Larry Black of Mercer, PA, Carrie and her husband Tom Schaefer of Mercer, PA; a son Kirby Kirby and his Fiancé Angela Clark of Fredonia, PA; his mother, Judy and her husband Lloyd Wieser of Manchaca, TX; 2 sisters, Anita Smith and Kathy Anderson, both of Manchaca, TX; 3 brothers, David Kirby of Virginia, Keith Kirby of Missouri, and Brian Kirby of Mercer, PA; 6 grandchildren, Caleb, Gabbie, Ivy, Hunter, Katie, and Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his father and 2 nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Oak Grove Church 16 Oak Grove Rd. Mercer, PA 16137. Cremation will take place in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146.
