Lee M. Kranich, 7263 Joy Rd., Brookfield, Ohio, formerly of 1041 Plum St., Sharon, PA passed away of congestive heart failure at 2:50 p.m. Saturday (7-11-09) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 88.
Mrs. Kranich was born May 8, 1921 in Calabria, Italy a daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria Mazza LaGrotteria.
She immigrated to the United States in November of 1927 and settled in Greenville.
She attended St. Michael's Parochial Grade School; was a graduate of the former Penn High School; and attended Thiel College, all Greenville.
Following her marriage to George Joseph Kranich on October 22, 1949, Lee Moved to the Shenango Valley where she resided until moving to Brookfield in 2001.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. Lee enjoyed her family, visiting with her grandchildren and attending their activities, and playing bridge with her friends.
Surviving are: her husband George, a resident of O'Brien's Memorial Nursing Home, Masury; three daughters, Barbara Joyce and her husband Thomas P. Joyce (who is formerly of Sharpsville), Pittsburgh; Nancy Mueller and her husband Peter, Los Angeles, CA; and Marcy Kirila and her husband Jerry 'Tweet', Brookfield, Ohio; a son George W. Kranich, Dallas, TX; and eight grandchildren, Maureen, Madi, Peter, Katie, Kurt, Josy, T.J. and Brooke.
Besides her parents, Lee was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph LaGrotteria and a sister, Rose Marie Crist.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (7-15-09) in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with the Rev. J. Thomas Dugan, senior associate pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
