Leal McKee Sickafuse, 93, of Hermitage, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Sickafuse was born September 12, 1925, in Hickory Twp., Lawrence County, a son of James Joseph and Lois (Gibson) Sickafuse. He was a 1943 graduate of the former Eastbrook High School, Hickory Twp. Following high school, Leal worked with his father on the family farm for many years. He later became a certified accountant, after studying at Erie Commercial College, and was employed for more than 28 years at the former McDowell National Bank, Sharon. Leal began his career at the bank as a teller and retired May 31, 1988, as an auditor.

Leal was an active member of Central Christian Church, Hermitage, where he served as a deacon and the church treasurer for 30 years, and was part of the Christian Men's Fellowship.

A talented singer, he sang in a barber shop quartet from 1962-1966. Leal was an outdoorsman and enjoyed sailing, gardening and walking. He particularly enjoyed attending his children's special events in their life.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lucille J. Klakamp, whom he married September 5, 1959; a daughter, Sharon Sickafuse, of Germantown, MD; a son, Terry Sickafuse and his wife Jennifer, of Thompson, OH; and two sisters, Millicent Thompson, of New Wilmington; and Donna Rodgers, of Girard, PA.

Leal was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Etta Johnson and Lois Mae Sickafuse; and a brother, Joseph Sickafuse, who was killed in action.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Central Christian Church, 218 Meadowbrook Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hour will be 1 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday (12/22/2018) in Central Christian Church, Hermitage.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, in the church, with Pastor Lew Voisey, officiating.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
