Lawrence R. "Larry" Hassan of West Middlesex, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday afternoon, March 4, 2019, in Oasis Center for Rehabilitation and Healing, Youngstown, OH. He was 61.
Larry was born April 25, 1957, in Sharon, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Ella May Hassan. He was a 1975 graduate of West Middlesex High School, and as a young man traveled the country working in several different fields of occupation.
Larry retired in 2010 from the International Union of Operation Engineers, Local 513, where he worked for many local contractors as a heavy equipment operator.
An avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he also enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, gardening, playing with his dog, Princess "Princey-Bean," and riding his tractor. Above all else, Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Roxanne Garcia, whom he married March 30, 2005; a step daughter, Lisa Burkhart, of Austintown, OH; a step son, Aaron Humphries and his fiancé, Nikieda Snow, of Sharon; and six grandchildren, Bentley Burkhart and Modesty, Aaron, Neeko, Siann, and Maria Humphries.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by an aunt, Dorothy "Dot" Hassan; and an uncle, Carl Hassan.
