Laverne Wallbank Lynch, 1733 McDowell St., Sharon, passed away at 9:33 p.m. Monday (8-30-10) in Countryside Convalescent Home, E. Lackawannock Twp. She was 90.
Mrs. Lynch was born Jan. 29, 1920 in Sharon the only child of the late Elliott and Helen Harry Wallbank.
She was a graduate of Sharon High School and Slippery Rock University.
Laverne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sharon, and its Women's Association. She was active throughout her life and involved in many organizations, including the Sharon Regional Health System's Auxiliary and the Crippled Children's Association, Hermitage. Laverne was very knowledgeable in regards to antiques and at one time owned an antique shop in Hermitage. Laverne led an active life and enjoyed going out with her friends and traveling with her husband. She also loved her dogs.
Her husband, Gerald R. 'Pickles' Lynch, whom she married November 24, 1944, passed away May 5, 1995.
She and her husband did not have any children. Surviving are: brothers and sisters-in-law, including Rita Hopkins of Hermitage; and nieces, nephews and friends.
