Larry E. Pickens, 64, of Farrell, passed away at 6:34 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018, in UPMC Horizon, Shenango Valley.

Larry was born June 25, 1954, in Sharon, a son of Elbert and Mildred (Henderson) Pickens. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Farrell High School in 1972.

Larry was employed at Wheaton Dry Cleaners, Hermitage and the former Nathan Brother's, Farrell. He received great pleasure from lending a helping hand to the elderly in the community. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed fishing at many of the local lakes, rivers and streams.

He is survived by two sisters, Deborah Houston, of Warren, OH; and Betty Vanzieleghem and her husband Eric, of Belgium; two brothers, Charles Pickens and his wife Dawn, of Farrell; and Stanley Pickens and his wife Rochelle, LeGrange, GA; and three close friends, Michael King, Charles Keller and Charlene Campbell.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Howard Houston.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday (11/20/2018) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
