Larry L. Coxson of Jefferson Twp., passed away at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley Hospital. He was 74.
Mr. Coxson was born May 29, 1943, in Sharon, a son of Samuel and Anne (Spohn) Coxson. He attended Brookfield High School and served with the US Navy from January 25, 1961, to June 5, 1964. While in the Navy, he was a fireman apprentice aboard the USS Randolph.
Larry was employed in the maintenance department at the former Sharon Steel's Farrell plant until it closed and retired from McDonald Steel, McDonald, OH.
He was a lifetime member at VFW Post #3521, Vienna, OH; and the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Ashtabula, OH. Larry was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Nascar.
Larry is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy (Davis) Zoboroski, whom he married in 1997. He is also survived by a daughter, Tracy Muszik and her husband Dwayne, Hermitage; a son, David Coxson and his wife Colleen, Ashland, OH; a step-daughter, Kim Joyce and her husband Scott, Sharpsville; six grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; three brothers; and two step-sons, Richard and Mark Zaboroski.
