Khyana “Kaye” Fitzpatrick, 38, of West Mifflin, PA, formerly a longtime resident of New Castle, PA, was born May 15, 1988, in Saint Louis, MO, a daughter of LaWanna Fitzpatrick and the late William Vernal Fitzpatrick.

After a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer, God called Khyana home on Monday, October 19, 2026, wrapping her in His peace, free from pain and welcomed to eternal rest.

Since graduating from Union Township Area Schools in 2006, Khyana has dedicated herself to continuous learning and academic excellence. Her diverse educational path spans law, psychology, education, and theology—highlighted by an Associate Degree as a paralegal, a Bachelor's in Pre-Law (with a minor in Psychological Science and a diversity certificate), a Master's in Education, and a principal certification. Building on these accomplishments, she had also been actively pursuing a doctorate in leadership.

Throughout her life, Khyana touched many communities through her diverse career as an educator, life coach, crisis manager, admissions counselor at Penn State, and mobile therapist. She pursued passions ranging from line dancing and two-step classes to playing softball. Above all, Khyana was deeply committed to advocating for others, always striving to be a listening ear for those who felt alone or unheard.

On May 25, 2014, Khyana experienced her greatest blessing and deepest joy with the birth of her son, Carter Kyh’Mar Johnson. Khyana was preceded in death by her father, William, and her husband LaMar Johnson.

She leaves behind a profound legacy of strength, faith, and resilience. Khyana is deeply missed by her beloved son, Carter, of West Mifflin, PA; and her mother, LaWanna Fitzpatrick, of New Castle, PA. She also leaves to cherish her memory her four brothers, Tyshaan, Rashad, and Andre Fitzpatrick, of New Castle, PA, and Ahmad Fitzpatrick, of Houston, TX; her goddaughter, Laila May; her godmother, Nikki Fitzpatrick; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Alongside her family, her memory is held dear by her love and best friend, Abednego “Ben” Maloya, who stood faithfully by her side and cared for her through the very end of her journey.

Above all, Khyana leaves us with two guiding principles she lived by: the spiritual strength of "If God is for us, who can be against us," and the practical grit of "If you stay ready, you ain’t got to get ready."

At Kaye’s request, all services will be held privately.
