Kevin E. Kavanagh, 81, of Hermitage, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Kavanagh was born May 8, 1939, in Sharon, a son of the late Edward J. and Alice M. (Kelly) Kavanagh. He was a 1957 graduate of Hickory High School and earned a bachelor's of science degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.

He spent his career as a financial and investment advisor. He also earned his real estate and stock brokers licenses.

Kevin was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.

He was extremely community minded. He was involved in the Edward J. Kavanagh Foundation; Shenango Valley Industrial Development Corporation; Penn Northwest Development; American Heart Association; and served on the Buhl Day Committee.

He was an avid golfer and loved sailing.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jacqueline Thomas, whom he married October 12, 1991; a son, Stephen Kavanagh and his wife Agnieszka, all of Hermitage; a grandson Alexander; three sisters, Joan Feeney and her husband James, of Sharon, Eileen Buchanan, and Catherine Hammer, both of Hermitage; a brother, Thomas Kavanagh and his wife Elaine, also of Hermitage; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Phyllis Canady; and a daughter, Nancy Kavanagh.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Mental Health Association of Mercer County, 196 Stambaugh Ave., Sharon, Pa 16146; or to the Community Food Warehouse, 109A S. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, PA 16146; or to the American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, OH 44514.
