Obituary

Kathryn A. Gassner, 502 Pulaski Rd. (Shenango Township), Pulaski, PA passed away at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday (8-10-10) in her home after a brief illness. She was 80.

Mrs. Gassner was born March 15, 1930 in Sharon a daughter of the late James and Matilda Mackey Hodge.

A lifelong West Middlesex area resident, she was a 1948 graduate of West Middlesex High School. Kathryn retired from First National Bank, West Middlesex branch, after 25 years of service.

A homemaker, she enjoyed the outdoors and tending to her property. She also loved spending time at home with her family and would often go for a ride on a golf cart, ATV and snowmobile.

Her husband, Lawrence S. Gassner, whom she married Jan. 20, 1951, passed away September 29, 2006.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by: a daughter, Joan E. Baker, Shenango Township; two sons, Craig L. Gassner and his fiancée Janice 'Nippy' Multari; and Brett C. Gassner, Sr. and his wife Susan L., all West Middlesex; nine grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to cancer research.
