Obituary

Kathleen A. "Kathy" (Kudray) Williams, 82, of Mercer PA passed away peacefully September 29, 2024, after a brief illness. She was surrounded in love by her family at UPMC Farrell Hospital.

Kathy was born October 8, 1941, to John and Mary "Vita" Kudray at Buhl Hospital in Sharon, PA. She was a proud graduate of Farrell High School Class of 1959.

She was employed at Bell Telephone in Sharon, JCPenney in Hermitage and Moss Furniture in Greenville before retiring from the Mercer County Public Assistance Office in Sharon.

Kathy married her late husband, James F. Williams II, in June 1961 at St. Ann's Church in Farrell. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2012.

Kathy loved dancing, taking workout classes, casino trips, beach vacations, shopping at TJ Maxx, hosting her yearly Christmas Eve party, spending time in the garden, learning about her Croatian heritage, and enjoying fellowship at the Mercer V.F.W. and American Legion. She also deeply loved and cherished the memories made with her lifelong friends from the Class of '59, known as the "Farrell Girls."

Most of all, Kathy's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three sons, Michael P. Williams and his wife Leah Ann, West Middlesex, and their children Madeline Hoffman (Kolten) and Isaac Williams (Sarah); Jonathan Mark Williams and his wife Jackie, Mechanicsburg, and their children Katie Hegel (Lauren), Emily Kindler (Joseph), and Abigail Williams; and James F. Williams III, West Middlesex, and his children Tristan Williams and Taylor Williams, and their mother Stacey. Kathy leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Peyton and Karsyn Hoffman, Lucas Williams, Joseph Kindler Jr., and Cameron Hegel.

Kathy leaves her devoted companion at home, Calvin Riggs. Also surviving are: a sister, Mary Lou Somich and her husband Donald, Hermitage; sister-in-law, Jane Tarczy and her husband Ken, Mercer; brother-in-law, John Williams and his wife Linda, Sharon; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister-in-law, Peggy Leonetti, and her beloved Golden Retriever, Bucky.

The family asks that if you knew Kathy, please do something she would have loved… Play a slot machine, drink a Kahlua and cream, dance the Jitterbug, or just share a laugh with family and friends.
