Kathleen L. Johnson, 76, of Brookfield, OH, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in Aventura at Assumption Village, Lima, OH.

Mrs. Johnson was born on December 2, 1947, in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of the late Robert J. and Julia (Sobey) Thompson. She was a 1965 graduate of Hickory High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Edinboro University.

A dedicated homemaker, Kathleen was also a faithful member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Hubbard, OH.

She enjoyed collecting antiques, painting and expressing herself through her excellent writing skills.

Her husband, Roy M. Johnson, whom she married on December 6, 1975, passed away on September 5, 2018.

She is survived by a son, Nick Johnson and his wife Stephanie, Boardman, OH; three grandchildren, Emma "EJ", Logan and Tanner; a sister, Jan Denno and her husband Larry, Vienna; and a brother, Matthew Thompson and his wife Christine, Rocky River, OH.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by two brothers, Jon Joseph and Robert B. Thompson.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Buhl Park, 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday (09/13/2024) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home with the Very Rev. Michael Balash, officiating.

Interment: St. John's Orthodox Cemetery, Hermitage.
