Public visitation will be held Saturday for Kathleen L. Fridley, formerly of Hermitage. She passed away at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, following an extended illness with cancer. She was 66. Mrs. Fridley was born Sept. 18, 1948, in Farrell, the only child to Thomas "Arky" and Elizabeth "Betty" Smiley Vaughn. She was a 1966 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon. She later studied under Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. Kathleen was an advertising sales representative for local radio stations for many years and later worked as an interior design consultant for Goldstein's Furniture and Bedding, Hermitage, for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Fridley, on April 19, 1997. Kathleen was a gracious and elegant lady who enjoyed entertaining, traveling, and fine food and wine with her dinner club friends. A loving mother, she is survived by a daughter, Amanda V. Miller, with whom she made her home in Sharon; a son, Forrest N. Miller, Canfield, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Rhys Miller. She also leaves many extended family members and friends. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sharon Regional Health System Hospice and Palliative Care, 1955 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148.
